The School of Dancing Wheels: Meghan Drops

Here it is again! A blog from one of students. This time Meghan Drops is telling us about her experience with the school.

This is our second week of classes. I’m glad to be back and
seeing all my friends and teachers. I’m enjoying all my classes. I’ve been dancing since I was five years old in various studies. I joined Dancing Wheels about four years ago while, attending the Dancing Wheels Adult Summer Workshop. I enjoyed it so much I decided to join classes at the school and I have been doing it ever since. I’m a member of Junior Company and now Performance Ensemble.
We continue to improve our technique in ballet, modern, contemporary and hip-hop. Our teachers are great in helping us work on our strengths and weaknesses. I have also been able to be a volunteer assistant at the Youth Summer Workshops and the Theater Arts Workshops.
In Performance Ensemble this week, each student started to pick music and start to choreograph a dance for the ensemble to dance. It will be exciting to see everyone’s ideas for dances.

If you think your child would benefit from being part of a performance ensemble, contact our School Coordinator! We hope to see many new faces this season!

The School of Dancing Wheels: Elise Lemanski

Every Saturday, The School of Dancing Wheels has classes for students of all ages to learn different dance techniques. We asked that each week one student writes a blog about their experiences at the school and how it’s effected their life.

This week, Elise Lemanski was chosen and here’s what she had to say!

“My first experience with Dancing Wheels started in middle school. My friend was involved with it, and I ended up doing the Theater Arts camp for several years. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to try taking classes. I started off only taking Modern and doing Junior Company. During this I realized that I love dance, and the next year I decided to do more, taking all the classes that I could. This also inspired me to try out for Dance Team at my school, which has been a lot of fun.

The teachers at Dancing Wheels are great. They really talk to you, and they feel like friends. They can be pretty silly, but when class starts, they become focused on dance. I have also met some great friends. I ended up really bonding with people in my classes, and we always have a good time together. I am looking forward to making even more friends this year, and creating an amazing performance piece with them and our teachers Emma and Isaah.”
